How do we treat disconnection?
Here at BFF Therapy we practice Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with our couples, individuals, and families. Why do we love EFT? EFT is one of only two empirically validated models for couples (yup, that means they study the crap out of it) that the American Psychological Association recognizes as an evidence based model. EFT dives in deep, from a bottom up experiential approach for emotional, intimate, and long-lasting change. It directly battles loneliness and disconnection in partners, addressing the distress a couple is experiencing that leads them to turning away from each other. EFT looks at the block to connection, the negative cycle that the couple finds themselves in over and over again, and treats the relationship as the client. The long lasting change that occurs between the partners from this process brings trust, safety, and passion back into the relationship. EFT doesn't just breathe new life into the relationship, this process teaches the couple how to breath together, sometimes for the very first time.
